Bonneville County spans 1900 square miles in East Idaho, which includes portions of the Grand Targhee and Caribou National Forrest, the Palisades and Ririe Reservoirs and a large portion of the Snake River.  Covering our back country areas all the way to the Wyoming border is a team of Deputies working with Forrest Service and Bureau of Land Management Law Enforcement, Idaho Fish and Game, and many other First Responder partners.  A day is the back country could require the use of various off-road, winter, and waterways rescue equipment – often all in the same day.  Deputies assigned to these areas are EMS trained and coordinate our team of Search and Rescue Volunteers.
