RE: Student arrested for bringing firearm to Sandcreek Middle School.

 

     This afternoon at Sandcreek Middle School in Ammon, School Administration and a Bonneville County Sheriff’s School Resource Officer were made aware of a student on campus in possession of a handgun.  The Deputy and School Officials quickly located and secured both the student and firearm and began investigating.

     The student was taken into custody and placed in the 3B Detention Center on pending charges for possessing a deadly weapon on school grounds.  No students were threatened and Deputies are continuing to work with School Administrators to investigate any other students or potential threats tied to this incident. 

     The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and Bonneville School District 93 work together to investigate all threats tied to the district and encourage all parents and students to report suspicious activity, weapons, and threats immediately.  Students and parents can report threats to their school administrators, any Sheriff’s Deputy or Police Officer, Dispatch at 208-529-1200, or anonymously through Idaho Falls/Bonneville County Crime Stoppers at 208-522-1983.
