PRESS RELEASE

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is participating with several other agencies in our area and the Idaho Transportation Department in putting extra Deputies on patrol through the 4th of July weekend looking for impaired drivers.  This is part of a statewide Impaired Driving Mobilization campaign during the holiday weekend when we seen an increase in festivities, travelers, and events where alcohol use increases.  Unfortunately what comes with that is a higher risk of alcohol related vehicle crashes, especially during these 100 deadliest days of summer.

Through this mobilization the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office hopes this messaging encourages the responsible use of alcohol and avoidance of operating any motorized vehicle if you’ve been drinking or using drugs.  Remember that it’s not worth the risk of being involved in a deadly crash or the potential of being arrested to you or your family, take the time to plan for a safe ride home and drink responsibly.  The Sheriff’s Office wishes for everyone to enjoy a safe 4th of July holiday weekend where you too can “Party like it’s 1776 and rideshare like it’s 2019.”
