PRESS RELEASE

RE:  Male arrested on traffic stop for Possession of Methamphetamine

On November 16th, 2019, at approximately 1pm, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 49th N. and 25th E. on a vehicle that had previously eluded officers and Deputies had information that a wanted subject may be inside.  Deputies detained the driver and identified him as 25 year old Waytt M. Landon of Bonneville County and determined he was not wanted individual in question.  During the stop, Deputies observed a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine on the seat of the vehicle weighing approximately 2 grams.  Deputies also located items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and indications of illegal drug use.  In talking with Landon during the stop, he admitted to being in possession of a drug pipe hidden in his clothing.

Landon was placed under arrest at that time and transported to the Bonneville County Jail.  During the booking process Deputies found the drug pipe hidden in Landon’s clothing along with another baggie of suspected methamphetamine weighing over 5 grams.  Landon was booked into jail on Felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Attempting to Introduce Contraband into a Jail Facility, along with Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
