RE:  Drivers License and Motor Vehicle Registration Offices moving back to regular business operations on Monday March 29th, 2021.

After having modified appointment only operations at the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office Driver’s License and Bonneville County Motor Vehicles offices since November, those offices will be moving back to normal operations during business hours as of Monday March 29th, 2021.  Appointments for transactions at both of these offices will only be scheduled through close of business on Friday March 26th, 2021.  Both offices will continue processing transactions for Bonneville County Residents only.  Even though operations will return to the previous status of first come first serve during regular business hours, both offices will continue to require the use of masks and social distancing for the safety of our staff and customers.

As a reminder, many transactions and questions relating to Driver’s Licenses and Vehicle Registrations can be done online at the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) website: under the DMV tab.  Our recommendation, prior to traveling to our offices, is to save yourself some time by going online to the ITD website to see if your question can be answered or your transaction can be completed there.  As the deadline approaches for required use of the Star Card – Idaho’s REAL ID, we especially recommend utilizing the “Add the star tool” to make sure you have everything you need prior to coming to our offices to get your driver’s license in just one visit.  Remember, on October 1st 2021, the Star Card, a U.S. Passport, Military ID, or some other form of federally accepted ID will be required to board a flight or access a federal building.

We know your time is valuable, and the staff at both the Driver’s License and Motor Vehicles offices work hard to process transactions and help our residents as quickly and efficiently as possible.  We ask that you help save everyone time and effort by checking the ITD website and utilizing their online services as much as possible.  If your transaction requires a visit to our offices please be prepared with all of the necessary documentation required, be patient, courteous, and adhere to mask use and social distancing.  Doing so will help process your Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Registration needs as quick and efficient and possible.

Bonneville County Sheriff Samuel Hulse and Bonneville County Assessor Blake Mueller want to thank our Bonneville County Residents for their patience and assistance as our dedicated staff work hard to serve you as effective and efficiently as possible.
