PRESS RELEASE
RE: Intoxicated man arrested for Aggravated Assault
Late Friday night (July 2nd), Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 400 N. Block of Contor to a report of a man with a gun. Dispatch received the call around 11:18pm, advising a man drove up to a residence and pulled a gun out but was pinned down by other people at that location.
Deputies arrived to find 27 year old Yeri D. Solorio-Alvarado of Rigby on the ground being held down by witnesses. A second witness gave Deputies a handgun and advised it was taken from Mr. Solorio-Alvarado after a brief verbal altercation. Apparently Mr. Solorio-Alvarado pulled up in front of the residence, exited his vehicle and began yelling at some of the individuals there. Mr. Solorio-Alvarado went to the passenger side of his vehicle and retrieved a handgun from the glove box. Witnesses saw what was happening and were able to get the gun out of Mr. Solorio-Alvarado’s hand and pin him to the ground until Deputies could arrive.
Mr. Solorio-Alvarado admitted to Deputies on scene that he had been drinking and advised he drove to the residence to drop someone off. When asked, Mr. Solorio-Alvarado also admitted he pulled the gun out, but several different reasons as to why or what he intended to do with it.
Deputies transported Mr. Solorio-Alvarado to the Bonneville County Jail where he was booked for Aggravated Assault and 3rd Offense Driving Under the Influence, both Felonies.
