RE:  Traffic stop leads to Felony drug arrest

Just after midnight on August 11th, a Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle at 4th St.  and N. Boulevard after noticing the vehicle did not have any rear tail lights.  The Deputy made contact with the driver, who identified himself as “Eddy” and told the Deputy he had never had a driver’s license.  In talking with the Deputy, “Eddy” admitted his real name was Heriberto J. Dominguez and that he had an active Warrant for Possession of Marijuana.

Deputies were able to confirm Mr. Dominguez had an active Misdemeanor Warrant, and that his driver’s license had been suspended.  Mr. Dominguez was taken into custody at that time and secured in a patrol car.  A K-9 Deputy who had arrived utilized his dog to sniff around the vehicle, that resulted in an alert illegal drugs may be present.  Deputies searched the vehicle and located over a gram of Methamphetamine, just over 3 grams of Marijuana, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

Mr. Dominguez was transported to the Bonneville County Jail where he was booked on the outstanding warrant for his arrest.  Deputies also booked Dominguez for Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and Misdemeanor charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving Without Privileges.
