RE: Homicide Investigation; Persons and Vehicles of Interest
Victim: Morey P. Pelton, 36 of Jefferson County
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying vehicles and persons of interest in the homicide of Morey P. Pelton. Pelton was discovered in the early morning hours of May 13th at the Lane Clark Rest Area on Hwy 26, East of Ririe, ID (approx. Mile Post 356). Deputies are seeking information from anyone who visited the rest area between Thursday May 12th at 8pm and Friday May 13th at 6:30am. Deputies are also seeking information on two vehicles with multiple occupants that were near the rest area during that time frame. Both vehicles are likely SUV’s, one light colored and one dark colored.
Anyone with information about these persons of interest or the vehicles are asked to contact Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies through dispatch at 208-529-1200, or through the 24-hour Idaho Fusion Center Tip Line – 1-833-445-2092. Information can also be reported anonymously online to East Idaho Crime Stoppers at www.IFcrime.org or through the P3tips App on your mobile device. RE: Homicide Investigation
Victim: Morey P. Pelton, 36 of Jefferson County
On Friday May 13th, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Lane Clark Rest Area on Hwy 26 east of Ririe, ID (approx. MP 356) where it was discovered 36-year-old Morey P. Pelton had been killed. Since that time Detectives have been following up on multiple tips and information as well as analyzing available camera footage from the area.
As the investigation continues, Deputies still wish to talk to anyone who may have stopped at the Lane Clark Rest Area between 8pm on May 12th and 6:30am on May 13th regardless of seeing or having contact with other vehicles or people during the time they were there. Victim: Morey P. Pelton, 36 of Jefferson County
Bonneville County Sheriff’s Detectives are still seeking the public’s help with information relating to the Homicide of 36 year old Morey P. Pelton. Mr. Pelton was found on Friday May 13th at the Lane Clark Rest Area on Hwy 26 between Ririe and Swan Valley Idaho (approx. Mile Post 356). Specifically, Detectives wish to speak with anyone who stopped at the Rest Area between the hours of 8pm on Thursday May 12th and 6:30am on Friday May 13th. Anyone who stopped at the rest area during that time is asked to contact Detectives through dispatch at 208-529-1200 or the Idaho Fusion Center Tip Line at 1-833-445-2092.

Deputies were called to the rest area at 6:30am this morning, where they discovered 36 year old Morey P. Pelton of Jefferson County had been killed.
Deputies are asking anyone with information about this crime, or anyone who was in the area of the Lane Clark Rest Area on Hwy 26 (approx. Mile Post 356) between 8:00pm last night (May 12th) and 6:30am this morning, to contact Deputies immediately by calling 208-529-1200. PRESS RELEASE
RE: Suspicious Death
Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a suspicious death at the Lane Clark Hill Rest Area on Hwy 26 (Approx. Mile Post 356) East of Ririe. At 6:30am this morning dispatch received a report of what appeared to be a deceased subject near a parked vehicle in the parking lot.
A large portion of the Rest Area is closed at this time while Detectives collect evidence and process the scene. The Bonneville County Coroners Office is also assisting at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone with information or anyone who may have been in the area between 4:30pm last night (May 12th) and 6:30am this morning to contact our dispatch at 208-529-1200, report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at www.ifcrime.org or on the P3tips app on your mobile device, or contact the Idaho Fusion Center Tipline at 1-833-445-2092.
