RE: Traffic stop results in arrest of Parolee for Drug and Firearms charges
At approximately 4pm yesterday, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 42 year old Peter Andrew Lewis while on a traffic stop at the intersection of Allan St. and Ashment Dr. After stopping Mr. Lewis for a traffic violation, Deputies discovered he was on parole for a previous Felony Drug Conviction and had an active Warrant from Idaho Probation and Parole.
While being secured in a patrol car, Deputies located a small baggie of Methamphetamine in Mr. Lewis’ pocket. In a search of the vehicle, Deputies located another baggie of Methamphetamine, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, and a loaded handgun. Deputies learned Mr. Lewis had been renting an Air B&B residence on Falcon Dr. for over a week, and after obtaining a search warrant seized a shotgun.
Lewis was transported to the Bonneville County Jail where he was booked on the outstanding Parole Warrant. Due to his previous convictions, Lewis was charged with two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm along with Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
