RE:  Distracted Driver Arrested for Possession of Meth/Marijuana

 

     A Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a distracted driver yesterday afternoon, finding him in Possession of Methamphetamine and Marijuana.  The Deputy observed 52 year old Richard Corey Fox driving on Ammon Rd. at approximately 5:30pm yesterday (July 19th) in a vehicle with no license plates.  Near the intersection of 1st St, the Deputy noticed Fox appeared to be looking up and down at his cell phone and had to stop abruptly after noticing he was about to travel through a red light. 

 

     The Deputy initiated a traffic stop just past the intersection near Jason St. and Ammon Rd.  During the stop, an Idaho Falls Police K-9 Officer arrived and used his dog to sniff around Fox’s vehicle which indicated to the presence of illegal drugs.  A search of the vehicle produced items of Drug Paraphernalia along with approximately 27 grams of Methamphetamine and 5 grams of THC wax.  Fox admitted to Deputies he knew the substance found in his vehicle was Methamphetamine. 

 

     Fox was placed under arrest and transported to the Bonneville County Jail where he was booked on a Felony charge of Methamphetamine and a Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Marijuana.
