St. Patrick’s Day Impaired Driving Mobilization

March 14, 2024

NEWS RELEASE

RE: St. Patrick’s Day Impaired Driving Mobilization

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies are reminding motorists to be responsible when they get behind the wheel this weekend. Now through the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday weekend, extra Deputies will be on our roads looking for and intercepting impaired individuals who choose to drive instead of finding a safe ride home.

This mobilization is a partnership with Law Enforcement across the state and the Idaho Office of Highway Safety to educate our communities on the importance of celebrating responsibly. Alcohol or Drug impairment is a factor in 38% of Idaho’s fatalities. Our Deputies hope these statistics serve as a reminder that tragedy can be avoided by a smart decision not to drive. For those who make the wrong choice, Deputies are prepared to take enforcement action to keep everyone on our roads safe.

If you are planning to celebrate with alcohol or other intoxicating substances, take the time to plan for a safe ride home. Locate and utilize the resources available in your community and don’t take the chance of becoming a statistic. Be a good witness and report impaired drivers to your local Law Enforcement by calling 911 or *ISP (*477).
