Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a threat called in to Idaho Falls Community Hospital (IFCH) this morning, quickly determining everyone was safe and no imminent threat to the public or patients was found. Deputies working security at the hospital were informed by staff they received a phone call just before 8am from someone indicating they were on their way to the hospital to cause harm.
Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the hospital, briefly having staff and patients remain in their rooms while the building and area was checked. Working with hospital administration Deputies quickly determined there was no active threat to the facility and resumed normal operations within the hour.
Deputies are continuing to work with hospital administration to investigate and extra deputies will patrolling the complex. IFCH Administration and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office wish to thank the public and patrons of the hospital for their patience and cooperation during this event. Additionally IFCH expresses their thanks to the Sheriff’s Office and area Law Enforcement for their quick response to help maintain the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
