A 70-year-old Bingham County man was found deceased on the bank of the Snake River yesterday evening (June 6th) just south of Idaho Falls. Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies and Idaho Falls Fire responded to an area along the west bank of the Snake River south of 65th South around 6:35pm where the reporting party located the victim. Emergency personnel from both Bonneville and Bingham County assisting with search efforts upstream from a separate incident also responded.

Deputies determined the victim had been there for several hours after receiving injuries from falling down a rocky embankment alongside the river.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
