Aggravated Battery Arrest

July 9, 2025

NEWS RELEASE

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance yesterday evening (July 8th) just after 6pm at a residence in the 2000 N. block of 5th W. in Idaho Falls. As Deputies responded they were advised by dispatch 44-year-old Gregory Alan Davis was reportedly intoxicated and beating a male and female in a shed at that location with a metal rod. Dispatchers advised Deputies they could hear repeated calls for help over the phone and a male advising there was blood everywhere.

Deputies arrived and located the reporting party and a woman laying on the floor and bleeding from the head. Idaho Falls Ambulance arrived and transported the victim to the hospital.

The reporting party told Deputies he was talking with the female in a work shed on the property when Mr. Davis came in and grabbed her by the head and started hitting her. The man also told Deputies Mr. Davis attacked him and eventually pulled the female out of the shed as he was calling 911. During the altercation Mr. Davis reportedly threw pieces of metal car parts at the two and was hitting the woman in the head with a metal rod. The man said Mr. Davis possibly fled the area prior to Deputies arrival.

Deputies and area Law Enforcement searched the area for Mr. Davis, ultimately locating him attempting to hide in a tree on the property. Davis attempted to flee on foot as Deputies gave verbal commands to stop, resulting in a brief struggle and Mr. Davis being Tased before being taken into custody.

Mr. Davis was placed under arrest and booked into the Bonneville County Jail for two counts of Felony Aggravated Battery and Misdemeanor Resisting Arrest. The female victim was treated at the hospital for lacerations and possible fractures to the head as a result of the disturbance that were not life-threatening. Deputies are continuing to investigate, and no further information is available at this time.
