April 7, 2026

NEWS RELEASE

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested an Ammon man last Saturday morning (Apr. 4th) after responding to a disturbance and finding large amounts of narcotics. Deputies were sent to a residence in the 3000 block of Chasewood Dr. just after 8am that morning to a report of a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene to find 21-year-old Jorge Ruiz-Gomez and an adult female physically fighting inside. Both were detained along with two other adults who did not live at that location. At the same time, Deputies observed a large amount of Marijuana and THC products with various items of Drug Paraphernalia in the residence.

Deputies were able to get a search warrant for the premises, locating more illegal drugs and paraphernalia inside the residence and in Mr. Ruiz-Gomez’s vehicle. In all, Deputies seized more than 6lbs of Marijuana and THC edible and vape products, cash and other items indicative of Drug Trafficking determined to belong to Mr. Ruiz-Gomez. Through investigation Deputies learned the female was previously in a relationship with Mr. Ruiz-Gomez and the disturbance began when she unexpectedly arrived at the residence and refused to leave. At the time, Mr. Ruiz-Gomez did not want the female charged for entering the residence unlawfully.

Mr. Ruiz-Gomez was placed under arrest and transported to the Bonneville County Jail where he was booked on a Felony charge of Drug Trafficking and a Misdemeanor charge for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Deputies are continuing to investigate, and no further information is available at this time.
