Idaho Missing Persons Day – Awareness Service September 14, 2023

NEWS RELEASE

RE: Idaho Missing Persons Day

Awareness Service for the Missing
Date: Thursday Sept. 14th, 2023
Time: 12pm (noon)
Location: Bonneville County Courthouse Steps

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and the She’s Missing Podcast will be holding an awareness service for the missing this Thursday Sept. 14th on Idaho Missing Persons Day. On this date 22 years ago, Amber Hoopes went missing and has yet to be found. This case was the catalyst in marking Sept. 14th as Idaho Missing Persons Day and was first signed and authorized via proclamation by Gov. James Risch in 2006. Since that time, we take a moment to remember the Hoopes Case and the many other missing persons cases from our area still active today in hopes the missing pieces to solving them are found.

The service will take place at Noon this Thursday (Sept. 14th) in front of the Bonneville County Courthouse and is open to the public. Our partner in this effort is the She’s Missing Podcast (www.shesmissingpodcast.com), guests from the Sheriff’s Office and the podcast will share a few thoughts and recognize those who are still missing from our area.
