An Idaho Falls man was arrested Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 3) following a drug investigation and a search warrant at an Idaho Falls residence. Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies obtained a search warrant for a residence on Harvest Run in idaho Falls as part of an ongoing drug investigation that was executed around 3:30pm that afternoon. Investigators had reason to suspect weapons were present in the residence and utilized Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team resources to serve the search warrant and maintain safety in the immediate are.
After arriving at the residence Deputies detained two adults and two children who exited the residence after hearing verbal commands from the SWAT Team. Deputies entered the residence and located a third adult, 19-year-old Markos Gerardo Ramirez, hiding in a room and refusing to come out. Deputies entered the room and safely secured Ramirez without incident.
Investigators began a search of the residence, locating a large amount of illegal drugs and items associated with trafficking narcotics. Among the items seized were over 5lbs of Cocaine, more than 30lbs of Marijuana and THC products, and multiple pounds of mushroom and edible drug products. Deputies were on scene at the residence for several hours collecting and processing the seized drugs and evidence related to the case.
Mr. Ramirez was placed under arrest and transported to the Bonneville County Jail and the remaining adults and children were released at the scene. Ramirez was booked into jail on Felony charges related to Possession of Cocaine and Marijuana, along with Misdemeanor charges for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest.
This case is part of collaborative investigative efforts from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho Falls Police Special Investigations Unit, Madison and Teton County Sheriff’s Offices, the Idaho State Police and the Department of Homeland Security. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
