Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a two vehicle crash that happened yesterday at the intersection of 5th W. and 81st N. Emergency personnel were called to the scene around 12:30pm yesterday (May 15th), finding two vehicles involved and three people injured. Deputies determined a Chrysler van was driving south on 5th W. when it was struck by a Toyota Corolla going east on 81st N. that failed to yield at the stop sign.

Idaho Falls Fire and Ambulance personnel transported a 72 year old female passenger from the van and a 20 year old male driver of the Toyota to the hospital with significant injuries. Deputies and ambulance personnel performed CPR and emergency aide to the driver of the van, 74 year old Doyle Barney of Bonneville County, however he succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Idaho Falls Fire, Idaho Falls Police Department, and the Idaho State Police. No further information is available at this time and the crash is still under investigation.
